  17. <p>    Can he do it again? Francis Ford Coppola's 1983 film of the
  18. adolescent cult classic The Outsiders launched a group of
  19. virtually unknown young actors toward stardom. Among the cast:
  20. Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe and Tom Cruise.
  21. Coppola's affection for the book is undimmed. It has, he says,
  22. "idealism and deep, heartfelt human friendship," and he's
  23. revamping the story of the tough but sensitive greasers for
  24. television with another bunch of unknown hopefuls. Write these
  25. down -- Boyd Kestner, Harold P. Pruett, David Arquette, Jay R.
  26. Ferguson, Rodney Harvey, Robert Rusler -- and check again in
  27. six years.
